Level 3 Māori Performing Arts
Subject Description
Māori Performing Arts course will start with a wānanga. ( Introduction day during expectations and planning will be shared.)
This course is for any students who wishes to build their knowledge on Maori Performing Arts. It is mainly a practical subject although there are two theory papers based on the whakapapa of the performing arts.
This course is NOT a University Entrance subject as the assessments are Unit Standards but allows you to gain 87 credits (specification to be discussed with the teacher)

Recommended Prior Learning
We encourage to choose this course for any students who would like to explore dance, performance, voice work and develop their understanding on Māori whakapapa.
Students must be committed to their learning and allow time for practices during and outside class time.
No prior knowledge is required but strong motivation.
