Subject Description

In Food and Nutrition students consider the influences on their well-being, attitudes and values, and work towards promoting the health of their community. Students will be looking at aspects of haoura, attitudes and values and the health promotion models. Issues related to ethics and health philosophies are explored, which develops critical thinking skills in students.
Involves:
- The Level 1 Food and Nutrition course is offering standards from the Health Studies strand. It combines traditional courses of Home Economics and Health Education. Students will develop a deep understanding of well-being and subsequently explore strategies to enhance their well-being and that of others, in the contexts of food, mental health. This course focuses primarily on Food and Nutrition.
Course Overview:
- 15 credits are available with the new Level 1 Health Studies Standards.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Voluntary contribution of $70 for ingredients.
