Level 1 Geography

Geography is the study of places and the relationships between people and their environments. Geographers explore both the physical properties of Earth's surface and the human societies spread across it.
In year 11 geography we study:
- How earthquakes have shaped natural and cultural environments in New Zealand and globally.
- The Population Geography of New Zealand - looking at ideas like diversity and distribution.
- Asking questions about the best sustainable use of the Wairarapa Moana Environment.
- We develop the ability to use a range of Geographic Skills and Concepts to help us analysis Geographic topics, including doing some Geographic research.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Optional field trip: 1 day field trip to the Wairarapa including a visit to a dairy farm, approximately $25.

This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
