The prescription is based on koru/step 5 of the Make sense of number to solve problems strand of the Learning Progressions for Adult Numeracy.

This course provides an opportunity to gain the 10 credits needed for NCEA Level 1. There is no direct pathway to Level 2 Mathematics from this course.

Because Subject Selection 2022 is starting during lockdown you must request entry into this course by submitting an Exemption Request. Your request will be reviewed and if it is is approved you will be added to this course.

Recommended Prior Learning

Year 10 Mathematics and teacher recommendation. This course is designed for those who are working mainly at level 2 or 3 of the curriculum in year 10.

Pathway

This course does not lead to an NCEA level 2 course in Mathematics and Statistics.
