Subject Description

The Year 11 Senior Science course integrates the study of physics, biology, and chemistry topics. Students build an understanding of fundamental ideas in genetics, mechanics, electricity, and properties of acids and bases. Key experimental and investigation skills are developed in the practical component of the course.
This course provides a foundation for further study in Level 2 Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
Recommended Prior Learning
You should be consistently at Level 5 of the curriculum, but final entry is at the discretion of the HoD or the Teacher in Charge.
You may *not* take this course *and* Level 1 General Science.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
The opportunity to purchase revision and study workbooks through the school will be offered, but there is no obligation to purchase these. Suggestions for appropriate workbooks will be provided in the student information sheet issued at the start of the year. The cost is approximately $25.
