Level 2 Biology
This course gives students the opportunity to carry out real life biological research. Students could be expected to attend field trips to investigate biological populations and communities. The main topics covered include cells, genetics, evolution, and how animal or plant adaptations give them an advantage in their environment. You will also study how to critically and justifiably evaluate scientific information presented to you in the media.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
The opportunity to purchase revision and study workbooks through the school will be offered, but there is no obligation to purchase these. Suggestions for appropriate workbooks will be provided in the student information sheet issued at the start of the year.
Recommended Prior Learning
Require a minimum of 12 Credits from Level 1 Science which must include Science AS 1.9 (external).
You may *not* take this course *and* Level 2 General Science.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
Total Credits Available: 19 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 12 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 7 credits.
