Level 2 Food and Nutrition

This course has been developed from the Health and Physical Education and Technology curriculum areas. In Year 12 the key concepts at this level are the big ideas and understandings that we hope will remain with you long after you have left school for example social justice, sustainability and health promotion. Topics include veganism, sports nutrition, food security and sustainable food practices such as community and home gardens.
Included in the course is a Technology standard which builds upon the skills and knowledge developed in Year 11. You will: Implement complex processing and testing procedures to produce a French fruit flan.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Voluntary contribution of $90 for ingredients.
Recommended Prior Learning
Year 11 Nutrition and Well-being is highly recommended; alternatively, an interview with the HOD.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
