Level 2 Sports Performance

Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms A. Grigg.

The Sports Performance course aims to develop individual performance, leadership and self-management skills. Students can achieve credits via achievement and unit standards. A more practical course then Level 2 PE. Students have the opportunity to participate in a range of sporting disciplines. They will also develop their leadership skills by coaching primary aged students. There is an outdoor education unit which includes activities like rock climbing and whitewater rafting. Students are also expected to work together to help facilitate sporting events. If you enjoy exercise, working in groups and being in the outdoors then this course is for you.

Students who select this course need to have good self-management and bring a change of sports gear for all practical lessons.

It would benefit students to have taken Year 11 Physical Education but this is not a requirement to do the course.
