Level 3 Classical Studies
Teacher in Charge: Mrs B. Gibson
This course focusses on the art, architecture and literature of Classical Rome and Greece. Students will be analysing ideas and values from these ancient civilisations and exploring the influences they have had on the modern world. Students should have good reading and writing skills for this course.
Topics we will be studying:
- Art History - a selection of Roman art, architecture and sculpture
- Epic Literature
Recommended Prior Learning
There are no entry requirements for this course. However, the academic level of writing required means that it is beneficial to have achieved Level 2 credits in English.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
This course is approved for University Entrance.
Total Credits Available: 20 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 8 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 12 credits.

Only students engaged in learning and achievement derived from Te Marautanga o Aotearoa are eligible to be awarded these subjects as part of the requirement for 14 credits in each of three subjects.

and the final decision is at the discretion of the Head of Learning Area for that subject.
