Subject Description

The Year 12 Digital Technologies course covers Digital Media, Programming or databases, and Computer Science. Make the move from being a user of digital technologies to being a creator. If you like problem solving, being creative and finding out how things work, then this is the course for you.

Be a designer, creator and inventor of technology, not just the operator. Almost every career has a computing component in it now and this course will help future-proof job opportunities.

The Digital Media unit focuses on making websites and creating original, innovative images. We cover programming fundamentals using the free program Python. In Computer Science, find out how artificial intelligence will revolutionise our world, computer security, error control and encryption, depending on which topics are being examined that year.

The course includes standards from the following areas:

Designing and Developing Digital Outcomes

Our course focuses on developing and making websites. Students can choose to do EITHER databases OR programming. 

Computational thinking for Digital Technologies

Standards from this area focus on programming with Python and Computer Science which includes artificial intelligence and encryption. 

Recommended Prior Learning

No entrance requirement - just a great attitude and willingness to learn!
