Level 2 Physics
Subject Description

Why is the sky blue? How long is a second? Why is Rutherford's face on the $100 note? In Year 12 Physics you will find out the answer to these questions and more!
This course aims to give students an understanding of and the ability to use concepts, principles, and models in Physics to explain physical phenomena, systems, and devices.
Topics include wave systems, mechanics, and electricity, and electromagnetism. Students will also develop their practical investigative skills and understanding of the application of concepts covered.
Recommended Prior Learning
Require a minimum of 12 credits from level 1 Science which must include Science AS 90940 Demonstrate understanding of aspects of mechanics.
It is recommended that you take Yr12 Maths General or Yr12 Maths as well.
You may not take this course AND Level 2 General Science.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
The opportunity to purchase revision and study workbooks through the school will be offered, but there is no obligation to purchase these. Suggestions for appropriate workbooks will be provided in the student information sheet issued at the start of the year. The cost is approximately $30.
