The Creative Arts - Drama
Drama
A St Mary’s drama student is a young woman who is confident, communicative, curious and creative.
Junior Drama
Our junior programme focuses on fundamental skills of working in a team, communicating, collaborating, experimenting and performing.
This begins in Year 9 with the drama rotation and is further developed in Year 10.
Year 10 drama includes Shakespeare in performance, devising around issues of our time and a class production for an invited audience.
Senior Drama
Our senior drama students refine their skills in theory and performance. They attend live theatre productions and learn how to critically engage with concepts being presented.
Alongside this, there are opportunities to attend workshops run by industry professionals.
Each year group learns about different theatre forms, devising and works towards a performance of a scripted production to an invited audience.
