Year 10 Economics investigates how individuals and their families fit into the economy. Study at this level will enable students to understand how individuals and groups make economic decisions and will also help them gain the skills needed to manage their own personal limited means. The course will empower students to participate more effectively in their daily lives as consumers and decision-makers.
Students will participate in the Enterprise Studies Programme which provides them with opportunities to discover and develop new skills and abilities and to apply these in challenging situations. Students will be supported to plan and run a small enterprise of their choice.
Financial literacy topics studied include the important life skills of budgeting, saving, borrowing and rational decision making.
