Level 2 Mathematics
Subject Description
The course is based on level 7 of the NZ Mathematics & Statistics Curriculum.
The emphasis is on the acquisition of concepts and skills, and using these to solve problems. The course requires high level algebraic skills. This course provides a pathway to all level 3 Mathematics courses (Calculus and/or Statistics).
Recommended Prior Learning
A Level 1 Merit endorsement in Mathematics is recommended for this course, with a Merit grade recommended in AS 1.4 Mathematical Reasoning. Please ensure you meet the prerequisite before choosing this course. If you do not meet the prerequisite but are determined to enter the course you will need to apply for an exemption.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
A graphics calculator is essential. Walker workbooks are recommended for this course.
